`email:folder-changed` is what the nav badge listens for while it is not being pushed a count — a socket that never came up, or one that came up and relays nothing. Opening a single message has always sent it. The bulk actions reloaded their own list and told nobody, so a selection marked read left the badge where it was, and a reload was the only thing that moved it. Both bulk paths send it now, through one helper so the event name is written once. This is the local half; EmailService publishes the same change over NATS for the member's other tabs, and that half is fixed in emailservice alongside. They are not alternatives — this is the one that still works when the socket does not.
