Reopening a document could draw every field small and up in the corner, until one click of the zoom control snapped them all into place. The page box that fields and annotations are laid out against was stored in state already multiplied by zoom, and the effect that did the multiplying only ran when zoom *changed*. The toolbox store is module-scoped, so a zoom set earlier in the session survives closing the editor: reopening measured the pages at their natural size, painted the canvas at the remembered zoom, and left the overlay laid out against a box the document no longer filled. Overlay positions are percentages of that box, so everything inside it shrank and shifted. The next zoom change ran the effect and corrected it, which is why one click fixed it. The on-screen size is now derived from the natural size at render, so it cannot be left behind by a zoom, and the effect is gone. Blank pages added in the designer went through the same helper as scanned ones, which also removes the duplicated scaling that had them applying zoom while real pages did not.
