POST /api/docs/binders/scratch fetches the caller's Selected Docs binder for one collection, creating it on first use, and replaces its documents with the grid selection in the same round trip — the organizer calls this on every selection change, and two calls per checkbox is the difference between a binder that keeps up with the grid and one that visibly lags it. The sync holds each still-selected document at the position the member arranged it into and appends the new ones; separators and generated pages are never touched, because they are the member's own additions rather than a reflection of the grid. A document that cannot legally join the binder is skipped rather than failing the whole sync — a grid selection is not curated, so one bad row must not stop the other twenty from arriving. The ordering rules are a pure function so they can be tested without a database. Rename, delete, share and template promotion are refused for it, and the rules for what may become a DOC item now live in one helper so adding by hand and syncing cannot drift apart on what they accept.
