`viewFor` fetched the recipient's Cheddar balance and queried the whole organization's member list — both per RECIPIENT, on every published frame. At a full table that is eleven cross-namespace wallet calls and eleven whole-org queries for each fold, check and call: roughly 440 of each per hand, for two answers that were identical every single time. Neither can move during a betting round. They now ride only on the events that can actually move them — TABLE, INVITED, SEATED, LEFT, HAND_ENDED, CLOSED — and on every direct read. A frame without a balance carries null, and the nav chip already ignores null rather than rendering it as zero, so nothing flickers and no state is lost.
