The card led with the recurring rate whatever the term, so a three-year commitment priced at $100 a month was presented to the customer as $100. It is $3,600, and the customer is signing for $3,600. Where the contract runs past a single billing period the card now leads with the whole term, labelled 'over N months' — or 'due up front' where the seller collects it at signing. Where nothing is committed beyond one period the recurring rate stays the headline, because '$2,600 per month' on a $100/month plan carrying a $2,500 setup fee would be a worse lie than the one this fixes; that case states the first invoice on its own line instead.
