Applying DDL opens a 40001 window — watch it, do not restart

Bumping a catalog version leaves pooled JDBC connections holding the old one and the next query through each fails SQLState 40001, which Hibernate does not retry, so it reaches users as a 500. Measured today: 41 in ten minutes across three services, zero within fifteen. Restarting to clear it is worse than waiting — kamowssecurity is a single replica, so that trades intermittent errors for 70s of hard downtime.
