OrgResolutionService.byHost reads a leading label that is not a known platform alias as an ORGANIZATION's alias within the domain behind it, so without this entry careers.acme.com resolves as "the org aliased careers, hosted by acme.com" - nothing, or somebody else's org that claimed it. Inserted before VPN rather than appended. Safe: the enum is never persisted (no @Enumerated anywhere in the fleet, only host resolution in **************** so no row is relabelled by the ordinal shift.
