The punch clock breathed a red radial glow while the obligations badge three pixels to its left pulsed two expanding rings. Both controls are asking the member to go and do something, and two different animations that close together read as two unrelated systems — each one learned separately. One ring animation now serves both, so the keyframe is renamed off the obligations feature it started in. Reduced motion still degrades them differently, because they do not lose the same amount: the badge count and the error colour still say "you owe something", so those rings simply stop; nothing else on the screen says "you are off the clock", so that one holds a single ring open at a steady intensity and drops the trailing one.
