The pager sits at the bottom of the grid Card's CardContent, and CardContent ships `&:last-child { padding-bottom: 24px }` of its own. That selector carries a class plus a pseudo-class, so it outranks the single class emotion generates for `sx`, and the `p: 2` on the element was silently overridden on one side: 16px of padding everywhere but the bottom, which kept 24px. With the pager's own `py: 1` under the buttons that read as a band of unused card below the controls. Pin the bottom back to 16px the way the rest of the codebase already does — `'&:last-child': { pb: 2 }` alongside the `p`, the same pairing used in the settings cards and documented on StorageUsagePanel. Nothing else about the layout changes: the grid still takes `flex: 1` and the pager still shrinks to its content, so the eight pixels come off the gap and not off the rows.
