The SIP session lives in the document and nothing on the server holds a handle to it, so a reload ends the call outright — with no BYE, leaving the far end on silence until the registrar times the contact out. One browser-native confirm is the entire defence a page has, and F5 is the most common way a call is lost. Also extracts isCallActive as the one definition of a live call, so the close veto, the activity heartbeat and the drop beacon cannot drift from it. A ringing inbound call counts, and so does the SDP-negotiation gap the member experiences as the call already happening.
