Delegates to findBusyForMemberInRange and excludes the event being edited in Java, where a null exclusion cannot poison a SQL predicate. The test it replaces mocked the repository and asserted that its own canned answer came back, so it stayed green while the feature returned nothing in production. The new one records which query was asked and with what.
