On the vendors-products tab the "designate default lead product" control is gated on mortgage-vertical readiness — POS enabled, an active MORTGAGE commerce market, and a RESIDENTIAL_MORTGAGE lead market — AND on the currently-selected market tab BEING that residential-mortgage market. When any prerequisite is unmet the Star controls simply didn't render, so an org without a residential-mortgage lead market (the prerequisites live on other tabs) had "no way to set the default lead source" with zero indication why. Add a readiness banner (MlosReadiness) that spells out exactly what's missing: enable POS, create a Mortgage commerce market, create a Residential Mortgage lead market in Markets & Fields, or — when the org IS ready but is viewing a different market's vendors — select the residential-mortgage market tab. Reasons are derived so the default product itself (the thing being set) is never listed as a blocker.
