The table had no indexes at all, while every finder on it filters by MEMBER_ID. At 10,524 rows a single member's rights lookup was a full sequential scan — measured on production at 368 ms to return 192 rows, on a table that grows with members x rights. Purely additive, idempotent, with the same 40001 retry as the lead grid indexes, since it contends with Hibernate's own ddl-auto pass in the same boot.
