The tab is opened blank inside the click gesture and only navigates once a link comes back. So anything slow upstream showed as a blank white page with no explanation — which is what a dev machine out of memory looked like from the outside on 2026-08-30, and is indistinguishable from the app being broken. Two changes, both about never leaving someone staring at nothing. The tab now says "Opening KamoDesktop…" immediately, so it is never blank. And the request is bounded: every step behind it has its own timeout now, so twenty seconds means something is actually wrong rather than merely slow, and an abort says so in words the person can act on — the machine may be out of memory or restarting, wait a minute and try again.
