`--session-id <uuid>` is chosen at prepare time rather than left to the CLI, which is what makes the editor hand-off deterministic: the id is known before the session exists, so it can be handed over without watching a directory for a file to appear and guessing which one is ours. The hand-off waits for the transcript before opening the tab, because the URI handler opens an EMPTY tab for a session id that has not written one yet — worse than not opening one at all. It is backgrounded, because confirming means waiting Best effort in the strict sense, and it is meant to be: the session's home is the terminal the member is watching, and whether it ALSO appears in the editor depends on a VS Code window being open and rooted somewhere that lists it. A missing editor can never fail a terminal — the tests pin that. 7 tests: nothing attempted without an id, the wait is backgrounded, a confirmed session opens, one with no transcript does not, and an exploding editor is swallowed. 156 tests.
