The unblock choice lived in the renderer's local state, but switching messages unmounts/remounts the iframe renderer (the reading pane shows a loader between messages), so the choice was lost and every revisit re-blocked. Persist the decision keyed by the message's Message-ID (folder:uid fallback) in localStorage so it survives switching away and back, and page reloads. The renderer seeds and re-syncs showRemoteImages from that store.
