Unrelated to the performance work — found while reading the homepage's inline payload, where the string turned up in the FAQ answers. CockroachDB was retired from the fleet on 2026-08-12 and the platform runs YugabyteDB. Seven public statements still named it, and they are not incidental mentions: two are FAQ answers in the homepage's Product/FAQ JSON-LD, which is structured data offered to search engines as a factual claim about the stack. The others are the about page's meta description and keywords, ProductJsonLd's feature list, the capability list, and a blog feed entry. The surrounding claims stay true as written — YugabyteDB is also distributed SQL, so "backed by X for distributed SQL" needed only the name changed.
