(1) PortalLeadService routes a portal lead into the credit-based assignment pool (requiresAssignment=true) the moment it has a contact point — portal leads were assignment-inert. (2) ensureTransactionForApp inherits the transaction LO from the lead's accepted assignment (sourceLead.assignedTeamMember) — the assignment previously died at conversion, leaving every transaction unassigned and the borrower with no real originator.
