Create a new order against a Retail-type commerce Market.
Before you start
- A Retail commerce Market must already exist (see How to Create a Commerce Market) with at least one product if you want to add line items.
- You reach this screen either from the Commerce Pipeline's Retail Orders tab, or from a CRM Account's Orders tab (Create Order).
Steps
- Open New Retail Order — from Commerce, use the market's Orders tab and its new-order action; from a CRM Account, use the Create Order button on the Account's Orders tab (this pre-fills the account as the purchaser).
- Optionally fill in Order Number (auto-generated if left blank) and the Customer Account ID, if it isn't already pre-filled.
- Under Line Items, use Add product to search products by SKU or name and add one to the order — it starts at quantity 1 and the product's default unit price. Repeat for each product.
- If a product tracks inventory and stock is low or unavailable, a warning shows the quantity actually available.
- Adjust each line's Qty and Unit price directly in the table; remove a line with its remove control.
- Enter the order's Tax amount and confirm the Currency.
- Review the calculated Totals (subtotal + tax).
- Click Create Order. If you haven't added any line items, you're asked to confirm creating an order with no items (subtotal/total of zero) before it proceeds.
What you'll see
You land on the new order's detail page, where you can manage its status, fulfillment, payments, and returns — see How do I manage a retail order?
