Choose which nav options show up on your side bar vs. your top bar (or neither), reorder them, and set how your side bar behaves.
Steps
- Go to Settings β Personal β Navigation Layout (also reachable via Customize Navigation).
- Under Side bar appearance, set:
- Default mode β Expanded or Collapsed.
- Peek open on hover when collapsed β when your side bar is collapsed, hovering its edge briefly expands it to show labels.
- Below that, three columns show every nav option sorted into Side Bar, Top Bar, and Unpinned:
- Click the side-bar or top-bar pin icon on an unpinned option to add it there.
- Click the swap icon on a pinned option to move it between side bar and top bar.
- Click the unpin icon to move a pinned option to Unpinned β it still stays reachable from your home page and in search, just not in a nav bar.
- Use the up/down arrows to reorder options within a zone.
- Some options may show as Not available to you β these are hidden because your account doesn't have access to that feature, not something you can turn on here.
If a nav bar gets crowded
When a nav bar has more options than fit, arrows appear at its ends β click or hold one to slide along, or drag the strip itself. Press and hold an option for a moment to pick it up and move it instead.
To start over
Click Reset to Standard at the top of the page. A brief toast with an Undo action appears, so you can immediately revert if you didn't mean to.
What you'll see
Your layout applies immediately and follows you across devices β this is a per-member setting, not something an admin controls or that affects anyone else.
