Technical SEO

Making a site legible to search engines, at the source

Technical SEO consulting usually ends with a document. Somebody produces ninety pages of findings, the business nods, and eleven months later the same findings are still true because nobody on the development side had the time or the mandate. The value is not in the audit; audits are cheap and largely automatable. The value is in the fixing, and fixing requires being able to work in the codebase rather than filing a ticket for someone who will not prioritise it.

What the work involves

  • Crawl and indexation analysis against what search engines actually did, not what the site intends
  • Canonical and hreflang correctness, which is where multilingual and faceted sites most often break
  • Sitemap generation from a real source of truth, so it cannot drift from the site
  • Structured data implemented from the content model, so markup and page cannot disagree
  • Core Web Vitals treated as engineering rather than a plugin setting
  • Log analysis where scale justifies it, to see what crawlers do rather than infer it

Why we are credible at this

We enforce this on our own site in the build: a page that no sitemap lists fails the build, sitemaps are generated per request from the same sources the pages read, and an untranslated page is canonicalised to English and deliberately withheld from that language's sitemap so nothing unindexable is ever submitted.

What moves the price

We quote after discovery and the number is fixed before anything starts. These are the things that move it, so you can see roughly where your project sits before you talk to us.

  • Site size, and whether it is generated from a template or hand-built page by page
  • Whether we are implementing the fixes or handing them to your development team
  • How much of the site is behind JavaScript rendering
  • Whether there is an existing penalty or manual action to diagnose
