Every time a job description is saved, Kamo keeps a copy. That includes an SI's own job description, its personality and how it sounds, and the job descriptions of your organization, roles, departments, job titles and teams. Version History shows each copy, who saved it and when, and exactly what changed. Role Templates give an SI a complete, ready-made job in one step.
Open Version History
- Open the job description you want to look at. For an SI, open its profile and go to Roles & Permissions, then the job description card. For a job title, role, department or team, open it in Settings.
- Below the editor, select Version History.
- Pick a version on the left. On the right you see what changed in it, section by section: green for something added, red for something removed, and blue for something changed.
Each version says how it was saved: in the editor, by an Always allow decision, when the SI's personality was generated, from a Role Template, when an earlier version was restored, or when the SI was created. "Before history began" is what the job description held before Kamo started keeping versions.
Choose Personality and Voice at the top to see only the versions that changed how the SI behaves and sounds.
Compare any two versions
Under the version you picked, open Compare with and choose another version, or "An empty job description" to see everything the version holds.
Test a version before you use it
Select Test This Version to run the SI through practice conversations with that version, for example a customer asking a question or a colleague asking for help. Nothing is sent to anyone and nothing is saved; you see how the SI answered and how well it did.
To test changes you have not saved yet, select Test Before Saving below the editor.
Restore an earlier version
- Pick the version you want back.
- Select Restore This Version, add a short note if you like (for example "Back to the friendlier greeting"), and confirm.
The restore is saved as a new version, so nothing is lost and you can always go back again. The SIs the job description reaches start working from it right away. If the old version hid an item that no longer exists, or sent escalations to someone who has left, that part is left out and Kamo tells you.
Who can restore: for an SI, the people who can change its job description; for everything else, people who can configure the organization. Nobody can change their own job description.
Give an SI a Role Template
A Role Template is a complete job: the job description and the rules for its tools (what it may do on its own and what needs approval), its personality and speaking style, the rights it needs, and the voice it speaks with.
- Open the SI's job description card and select Role Templates. Right after you hire an SI, you can also select Choose a Role Template on the hiring summary.
- Pick a template: Receptionist, Sales Development Representative, Sales Assistant, Support Agent, Scheduling Coordinator, Loan Processing Assistant, Bookkeeper, Recruiting Coordinator or Trainer, or one of your organization's own.
- Choose what to give it: the job description and personality, the rights, or both.
- Select Give It to and the SI's name.
The template replaces the sections it covers and leaves the rest of the SI's job description as it was. Decisions a person made for this SI always stay: its Always allow permissions, the inherited items it hides, and its briefing and inbox duties. A built-in template's rights come in a role named after the template (for example "Receptionist (SI Role)"); it only holds rights you have yourself, and never a right an SI may not have.
Applying a template is a normal change: it shows in Version History, and you can restore the version before it.
Make your own Role Template
When an SI is set up the way you like, select Save as Role Template on its job description card, give the template a name, and save. Its job description, personality, roles and voice become a template your organization can give the next SI in one step. What is only that SI's (its Always allow permissions, hidden items and briefing duties) is left out. To retire a template, open Role Templates, go to Your Organization's, and select the archive button on it.
