An AI team member is someone on your team who is run by AI. It has a name, a work mailbox, a phone extension and a computer of its own. It answers email, chat and calls, keeps its plans in tasks and its future work on its calendar, and it does all of that with the permissions a person in the same job would have, and never more than the person who supervises it.
This area is about hiring one, telling it what its job is, and keeping an eye on it. The AI Assistant you chat with yourself is covered under AI Assistant. Connecting AI services, and choosing which models your organization uses, is covered under Workspace and Administration → AI Settings.
What you'll find here
- AI Team Members: what an AI team member is, hiring one, supervising it day to day, writing its charter, starting from a job template, and approving what it asks to do.
- Workforce, Budgets and Workstations: the Workforce hub, pausing every AI member at once, choosing models and capping spend, and the computer each AI member works on.
- AI Members at Work: phone calls and consent, meetings, checklists and tasks, the calendar, and chat.
Before you hire
Three things have to be in place first:
- The AI Workforce app is switched on for your organization.
- Your plan has a free seat. An AI team member uses one, just as a person does.
- At least one AI provider is connected, and Kamo has verified what its models can do. See AI Providers Explained.
Then start with AI Team Members Explained, and hire your first one with How to Hire an AI Team Member.
