Find an old message, take back one you shouldn't have sent, quiet a noisy group member, or manage the chat window itself.
Before you start
An open chat window.
Search within a conversation
- Click the search icon in the toolbar above the message list and type.
- Matching text is highlighted in the messages below, and the list auto-scrolls to your most recent match.
- Clear the search box to return to the normal view.
Unsend a message
- Hover a message you sent and click the ⋮ More actions icon.
- Choose Unsend.
This is only available for messages nobody else has seen yet — once a recipient has viewed it, the option disappears (you can no longer take it back, only revoke a shared file — see below). An unsent message is replaced in the conversation, for everyone, with "Message deleted."
Revoke a shared file after it's been seen
Once someone has already seen a message with an attachment, unsend is no longer offered for it — instead, the message's ⋮ More actions menu offers Revoke access to [filename]. This cuts off further access to the file itself while leaving the message and its text in place; the attachment shows as revoked to everyone in the chat.
Mute a member in this chat
In a group conversation, open the ⋮ More actions menu on any message from the person you want to quiet and choose Mute in this chat. This mutes that person's messages for you specifically, in that conversation only — it doesn't remove them from the group or affect anyone else's view.
Minimize, maximize, and close the window
Use the window's title-bar controls: minimize collapses it to a small floating round avatar bubble near the screen edge (click the bubble to reopen); maximize expands it to a larger reading view; close ends the window (your conversation history isn't deleted — reopen it any time from the Interaction Center's Chats tab). Dragging a minimized bubble into the small marked zone that appears is a playful way to dismiss it — purely cosmetic.
Start a meeting from the chat
If your organization has Meets enabled and your seat allows it, click the video-camera icon in the toolbar to open the meeting dialog with this chat's members pre-selected. See the Meets documentation for setting up and running the meeting itself.
