End a share at any moment. It stops working at once, wherever it is open.
Before you start
You need the Manage IoT Sharing right. You can end any share your organization made, not only your own.
End a share
- In Devices (IoT), open the Shared tab and stay on Shared by us. You can also get there from Settings → Devices (IoT) → Sharing → Manage shares.
- Find the share. The list shows live shares; narrow it with Status, Who, Shared through, Device or Shared by me.
- To check first, choose Details: it shows what is shared, who made it, whether each function works right now, and every use.
- On the share's row, choose End the share. In End this share?, type the word it shows and choose End the share.
From a conversation, you can also choose Revoke on the share's card, then confirm in Revoke this access?. This ends it for everyone the card names.
Result
Share ended. The person loses access immediately. Every request after that is refused, live video stops, and a page they have open notices within a few seconds. Their link, if any, no longer works. The end is recorded.
Other things you can do on a share
- Extend it to a later date. A share always ends.
- New link replaces a link and stops the old one.
- Unlock a share that was locked after too many wrong codes. See One-Time Codes Explained.
- Export uses, at the top of Shared by us, downloads who used what across your shares, for a period of up to 31 days. It needs the Export IoT Data right. See How to Export IoT Records.
Good to know
Access given through Settings → Devices (IoT) → Access is removed there, not here; see How to Give a Team Access to Device Functions.
