Remove a connection when you no longer use the vendor account, or to start again with a different account. If you only want to pause it, disable it instead (see the end of this article).
Before you start
You need the Manage IoT Connections right. Removing a connection affects people: read what ends first.
What removing does
- Its devices are deleted and stop appearing.
- Access given on those devices, or on the connection, ends. Shares lose those devices.
- Activity and the command log are kept for the retention period; see IoT Settings: Retention, Re-check and Defaults.
- Where the vendor allows it, the platform withdraws its own sign-in and stops the vendor sending events. Your vendor account and the devices in it are not changed. If you signed in at the vendor, check its list of connected apps afterwards.
Remove it
- Go to Settings → Devices (IoT) → Connections.
- On the connection's card, choose Remove.
- In Remove this connection?, read how many devices will stop appearing, type REMOVE to confirm, and choose Remove connection.
Result
The card shows Removing… while its devices are removed, then disappears. The activity log records that the connection was removed. A removal that is interrupted carries on by itself.
Google Home and Apple Home can also be removed on the phone that linked them: choose Remove on their screen in KamoMobile. For Google Home, also remove the platform from Linked apps in the Google Home app's settings.
If you only want to pause it
Choose Disable instead. The connection stays, its devices are hidden and it is not checked. Enable turns it back on and checks it at once.
