Notes (nav icon, /notes) is a personal notepad — every note is private to the member who wrote it (the page's own subtitle says so: "Private to you"). It only appears in your nav bar if your organization has Notes turned on and you hold the View Notes right. There is no sharing, collaborator, or "share with a teammate" feature anywhere in Notes — if you want a teammate to see something, send it to them another way (export it, or paste it into a message).
The Wall
Your notes live on the Wall — a card-based layout you can view as a Grid, a List, or Compact. Cards are grouped into bands (Pinned, then by how recently they were edited or added, depending on your sort), so the wall reads more like a corkboard than a flat table.
What a note carries
A note has a title and body (in either rich text or plain text — see below), an optional category (a single free-text label) and any number of tags, a color, and two independent toggles: Pin and Favorite. Pinning and favoriting are separate — a note can be one, both, or neither.
Rich text vs. plain text
New notes open in the rich editor (headings, bold, lists, links, tables, images) by default. Switching a note to plain text is a one-way, destructive change — all formatting is discarded and can't be recovered, though the text itself is kept — so the app asks you to confirm before it happens. Switching back to rich from plain is safe and instant, since there's no formatting to lose.
Floating notes ("stickies")
Any note can be detached into a small floating sticky that stays on top of whatever else you're doing — and it isn't limited to the Notes page. The floating layer is mounted for the whole app, so a detached note keeps floating while you work in Leads, Contacts, or anywhere else, until you close or reattach it.
