DaemonService has been in CrashLoopBackOff for days — 1654 restarts on the pod before the last deploy, 60 on the current one — and never started: Failed to instantiate [StewardNotifier]: No default constructor found NoSuchMethodException: **************** The class has two constructors: the public one Spring should use, and a package-private one added so tests can inject a mock RestTemplate. Implicit constructor injection only applies when there is exactly one candidate — with two and neither annotated, Spring falls back to a no-arg constructor that does not exist. The test constructor is what silently disabled the autowiring of the other. Marking the public constructor @Autowired restores the explicit choice. The test seam is unchanged. Unrelated to the avatar work; found while sweeping unhealthy pods.
