A quote is either a flat price sheet or a set of alternatives, so the editor offers a mode toggle rather than letting both exist at once — sending both would show the customer a price they cannot buy. Switching to options carries the existing lines into the first option instead of discarding typed work. Each option gets its own line items, billing term, commitment length, discount and setup fee, with a live preview of the period total, monthly equivalent, contract value and savings against the baseline. The preview mirrors QuoteOptionTotals; the server recomputes on save and its figures win. Seat count lives on the quote, so 40 -> 60 reprices every option at once.
