Thumbnails and per-channel tracks are storage an organization's uploads cause, so on the owner's instruction they now count toward that organization's total rather than being absorbed by Kamo. GENERATED_PREVIEWS is a billed domain. Measured from the object store, not from img_dats.THUMB_FILE_SIZE. That column holds a single value for what can be dozens of page thumbnails ({imgDatId}_thumb_p0..pN) and in production was populated for 5 of 84 rows — understating real derivative storage by about 37% and omitting track objects entirely. img_dat_derivatives records what a sweep actually reads back. Attribution is per holding record, the same rule as the file itself: billing joins imgs to img_dat_derivatives, so two organizations holding one file are each billed for its previews and deduplication stays Kamo's saving rather than the customer's. Period figures date previews by the upload that caused them, so a preview falls in the same period as its file rather than whenever the sweep ran. The platform report's derivativeBytes now reads the same measured source, so it stops understating what image processing costs. Schema verified in production before this landed: img_dat_derivatives exists after a KI run.
