The navtop badge and the ticket list were answering different questions and nobody could tell. The badge counts items awaiting attention — overwhelmingly tickets nobody has picked up yet, which is a fact about the TICKET. The list marked unread chat messages, a fact about its CONVERSATION. So the badge read "5" over a list that marked nothing, and the two numbers had no visible relationship. needsAttention carries the badge's own membership test per row, so the list can mark exactly what the badge is counting. unseenCount stays: "somebody said something you have not read" is still worth showing, and it is not the same thing as "nobody is handling this".
