MediaSessionMember gains AUTO_OPENED_AT, beside msgIdLastViewed because it is the same grain — a fact about one member's relationship to one session. That one answers "how much have they read"; this one answers "have they already been shown this, unasked". It replaces a per-tab sessionStorage flag, which was not a record of anything: a second device re-opened every conversation the first had already popped, and clearing storage lost the fact entirely. findChatSessionsToAutoOpen returns the sessions holding something the member has not read where something has arrived since the last raise — so a conversation deliberately left unread stops re-opening on every load but comes back when a genuinely new message lands. Chat sessions only; support tickets have their own handover. The member's own messages are excluded, and a dangling msgIdLastViewed pointer counts as unread rather than as caught-up, because a scalar subquery over a vanished row yields NULL and would read as permanently read.
