Two columns beside the ownership and SSL flags, answering the third DNS question about a domain: may we put its name on the From line of the transactional mail we send for it. The columns exist in the database already — landed before this, deliberately. Mapping a column that the table does not have breaks every query against org_domains across the whole fleet, and the 500 turns up in whichever repository next reads a domain rather than in this one. Both nullable and without a DEFAULT. NULL means "never checked", which is not the same statement as "checked, and not authorized": the first is silence, the second is evidence. Keeping them apart is what lets a failed DNS lookup leave an existing verdict standing instead of quietly demoting an organization's mail to the platform address until the next sweep.
