Six step components called t("skip") against an unscoped useTranslations(), which requests a top-level "skip" key that doesn't exist — next-intl then renders the literal key path instead of "Skip this step". The sibling call in the same files, t("common.states.loading"), shows the intended convention: this hook is root-scoped, so keys need the full dictionary path. Fixes it to t("settings.wizard.skip"), which the dictionary already has. Caught by replicating the CI i18n guard for Task 14's verification gate (task-14-brief.md).
