The card kept framer's `layout` after it grew a fold-out options panel. `layout` animates size and position by transform, so that one height change was being animated twice — once honestly by the panel's own height animation, and once as a projection from the card's previous box. The deck is anchored to the bottom of the viewport, which puts the previous box lower down, so opening Snooze shoved the card downwards onto the edge of the screen and ate the 20px gap. The panel's height animation is the honest one and is now the only one. Splitting the card in two along the way, because two different things move it: a wrapper that arrives and leaves, and the card itself, which is dragged and stacked. That also lets the card own `opacity` outright — a motion value handed to `style` beats `animate` on the same property, so declaring the drag fade in one and the depth dimming in the other meant the dimming never ran and the cards behind the front one were drawn at full strength.
