Note: despite the label, "Delete" doesn't erase the account. It flips the account's isActive flag to false — the same underlying mechanism a duplicate-account merge uses on the losing account. The record and its history stay in the database.Remove an account from active use.
Before you start
Open the Account Browser — see How to Browse and Search Accounts
Steps
- On the Account Browser, find the account's row.
- Click the delete icon in its Actions column.
- Confirm in the dialog.
What you'll see
The account is marked inactive: it disappears from pickers used elsewhere in the product (for example, the Assign Account search when linking a lead only shows active accounts) and its Status chip reads Inactive, but it still opens normally from a direct link and its History and other tabs remain intact. There's no separate "reactivate" control surfaced in the Account Browser itself.
