IoT Devices is included in every paid plan. It is not part of the free plan. It works only while your organization's plan includes it and the app is turned on.
What your plan gives you
If your plan includes IoT Devices, you can turn it on under Settings → My Account → Apps & Features and connect accounts. If your plan does not include it, the app shows Upgrade to and the name of a plan that includes it, or Add-on Required, instead of a switch. See What Controls Which Apps You Can Turn On.
When a trial or plan is about to end
The platform checks once a day whether your organization is about to lose IoT Devices. It warns you only if IoT Devices is turned on, at least one connection is active, and at least one automation or alarm rule is switched on.
You are warned when:
- a trial ends within 3 days;
- a subscription that is past due reaches the end of its 7-day grace period within 3 days;
- a subscription set to cancel at the end of its period ends within 3 days.
No warning is sent while a paid subscription is in good standing.
- Who is warned: the people with Manage IoT Connections, and the owner.
- When: the first warning comes when 3 days or fewer are left. A second, more urgent one comes when 1 day or less is left. The first one stays.
- How: as a notification of the kind Device connection problem. Its title is "IoT Devices will stop on" and the date, for example "IoT Devices will stop on October 21, 2026".
- What it says: "IoT Devices will stop on October 21, 2026 because your plan changes. Alarms and automations stop with it. Keep independent safety equipment in place."
- Where it takes you: Open connection opens Settings → Devices (IoT) → Connections.
If the ending stops being true, for example the trial converts or the payment goes through, the warnings are withdrawn at the next daily check.
What stops
When IoT Devices is no longer available to your organization:
- Devices (IoT) is no longer in the side menu or in Settings, and opening an IoT Devices page takes you to the home page;
- KamoMobile says "IoT Devices isn't turned on for your organization.";
- updates from vendors are no longer taken in, so device states stop changing;
- automations stop running and alarms are no longer raised;
- shared access stops working.
Your connections and automations are kept, not deleted. Records keep their usual retention periods.
Why alarms stop too
Alarms and automations run inside the platform. Once IoT Devices is no longer available, nothing runs them. Do not depend on them as your only protection. See IoT Is Not a Safety System.
If you want to stop on purpose
Turn IoT Devices off under Settings → My Account → Apps & Features. The same things stop. To stop only some devices, remove the connections you no longer need; see How to Remove a Connection.
