**************** holding a palette ID — "lemon", "glass" — and never a hex value. Stored the way notes and launchpad panes store theirs, for the reason that matters rather than for consistency's sake: the palette is defined once on the client (STICKY_PALETTE) and every surface resolves an id through resolveStickyColor. Persisting hex would freeze today's shade into the row, so a later correction to the palette would fix the notes and quietly leave the scripts on the old colour — and the same swatch would then mean two different things depending on which screen it was picked from. Null is no colour: the block wears whatever surface it sits on. A blank or whitespace value is normalised to null on the way in, because "" is not "no colour" to resolveStickyColor — it hands back the palette's first swatch, so an author who cleared the colour would have got lemon. Carried through the full block replace like every other field, and covered there: the colour survives an edit, and a cleared one comes back null.
