MUI's Tooltip spreads its aria-label onto its DIRECT child. Both of these wrap the button in a <span> — the standard workaround so the tooltip still fires while the button is disabled — so the name landed on the span and the button itself was announced as an unnamed "button". Verified against the installed Tooltip source rather than assumed. The no-show and cancel controls are icon-only, so that name is all a screen reader has. Short and action-shaped, because it is read as the button's NAME: "Mark as a no-show", not the sentence in noShowHint explaining that a no-show is recorded separately from a cancellation because it may be billable. That sentence stays as the visual tooltip, where it is read once by choice rather than every time focus lands on the control. The refresh button above them was already fine — its IconButton is the Tooltip's direct child.
