Control an active call: mute yourself, put the call on hold, jot a quick note, or hang up.
Before you start
You're on an active call (see How to Place a Call with the Softphone).
Steps
- While connected, the softphone panel shows a row of controls. The ones that work today:
- Mute — mutes/unmutes your microphone.
- Hold — puts the call on hold (the display switches to "On Hold" in amber); click Resume to bring it back.
- Notes — opens a scratch-pad text box for the call. This note is not saved anywhere — it's a local pad for the duration of the call only, so copy anything important out before you hang up.
- End Call — hangs up.
- Click End Call (or the red hang-up button) when you're done.
Not currently functional
A few buttons are visible in the same row but don't do anything yet — clicking them either does nothing or just toggles an empty panel that never appears:
- Transfer
- Conference
- Park
- Add participant
There's also no on-screen number pad while a call is connected, so you can't send touch-tone (DTMF) digits mid-call (for example, to navigate an automated phone menu) — the dial pad only appears before you place a call.
What you'll see
Mute and Hold reflect immediately in the call status. Ending the call returns the softphone to its idle Dial tab.
