Give another member, team member, department, or job title access to one or more of your documents.
Before you start
Sharing is only available from your Original Docs tab (not System Docs or Shared With Me), and you need at least one of the underlying "share docs" rights for the search/alias options below to appear — if none apply, the dialog shows "You don't have permission to share documents" but you can still copy the share link.
Steps
- In the Document Manager, select one or more documents using the row checkboxes.
- Click Share in the action bar. The Share Documents dialog opens on the Share tab.
- Add recipients:
- Search for a member or team member by name in the search box, or
- Enter their alias directly and click Resolve, or
- Type a Department or Job Title and press Enter to share with everyone in that group.
- Set Share Options:
- Allow Edit — toggle on to let recipients edit, not just view.
- Expires — optional expiration date.
- A reason for sharing (optional, up to 512 characters).
- Click Share (N) to send the share(s).
To copy a share link instead
Every share dialog also shows a Share Link box with a Copy link button — this generates a link to the Document Manager filtered to the shared file(s). Recipients still need a Kamo account to actually open it.
To manage or revoke an existing share
With exactly one document selected, open the Manage Shares tab in the same dialog. Each existing share can have its edit access toggled or be revoked entirely with the trash icon.
What you'll see
Recipients see the document under their own Shared With Me tab, with a badge counting new shares until they view it.
