Documents and Knowledge

Where your files, your working documents and your internal guides live.

There are two quite different things here, and the names are similar enough to be worth separating up front. Docs is a place to create and edit files — write a document, build a spreadsheet, share it with someone, work on it at the same time as a colleague. Documents (the settings area) is about how uploaded files are categorized: what types exist, which folders they go in, and what order they're assembled in.

The Knowledge Base is a third thing again: the guides your own organization writes, for your own people — and, if you choose, for your customers and the public.

What you'll find here

• Docs — creating documents, spreadsheets, presentations and drawings; uploading files; sharing; editing with your team in real time; and seeing what changed.
• Document Types and Folders — setting up the categories uploaded files are filed under, and building a stacking order.
• Knowledge Base — writing, reviewing and publishing your own help articles, and searching what's already there.
