How uploaded files get categorized: what types of document exist in your organization, which folders they live in, and what order they're assembled in when several are put together.
This is a settings area. If you're looking to write or edit a document, that's Docs.
What you'll find here
- Document Types and Stacking Orders β the two ideas, and how they relate

Read the known issue first
Four of the tabs in this settings area are wired to the wrong category behind the scenes. A type you create in one tab is stored under a different one, so it shows up somewhere you didn't put it β or seems not to have saved at all.
This is a real, confirmed defect, not a misunderstanding. The article explains exactly which tabs are affected and what actually happens, so you can work around it rather than losing an afternoon to it.
What a stacking order is for
When a set of documents has to be delivered as one package β a loan file, a signed agreement pack β the stacking order is the sequence they're assembled in. It's what makes the combined PDF come out in the order somebody expects rather than the order they happened to be uploaded.
