How to Build a Stacking Order

Scope note: only use this on Account, Service Applications, or Service Orders — the other four category tabs are currently wired to the wrong backend category. See Known issue — four Document settings tabs are wired to the wrong category.

Define an ordered pipeline for how documents in a category get compiled and sequenced.

Before you start

The Manage Docs Settings right.

Steps

1. Go to Settings → Documents, pick Account, Service Applications, or Service Orders, then open the Stacking Orders sub-tab.
2. Click New Order, give it a Title (up to 30 characters) and optional Description (up to 256), then click Create & Configure — this opens the step editor immediately.
3. Click Add Step to add a step, then expand it to configure:
   • Doc Type Filter — restrict to one doc type, or leave as "All Types."
   • Newest/Oldest uploaded first — sort direction for documents matching this step.
   • Page From / Page To — restrict to a page range, if relevant.
   • Max Docs — cap how many documents this step includes.
4. Click Apply to save the step's settings (Cancel discards).
5. Drag steps (or use the up/down arrows) to reorder — this saves immediately.

To remove a step or order

Click the trash icon on a step to delete it immediately, no confirmation. Click the trash icon on the order card itself to delete the whole order and all its steps — this one does ask for confirmation, since it can't be undone.
