HmdaLarService wrote the application's own (URLA-order) values straight onto the Loan Application Register. The filing file was wrong in ways the HMDA platform would reject or, worse, accept: - Sex: URLA numbers Female 1 / Male 2; HMDA is Male 1 / Female 2, 3 not provided, 6 selected both. Every applicant's sex was reversed. - Loan purpose: refinancing is now split into 31 refinancing / 32 cash-out (only a loan originated as cash-out is 32); home improvement is 2, other 4; construction-to-permanent reports its permanent purpose (home purchase) and construction-only is flagged as temporary financing for a person to decide. - Construction method: read from the property TYPE (manufactured home = 2, else site-built 1), not the existing/new/proposed field filed there by mistake. - Occupancy: FHA secondary residence files as second residence (2). - Loan type "Other" has no HMDA code and is now an edit error instead of 99. - Age: on the application date, not today. - Ethnicity and race carry their sub-categories (11-14, 21-27, 41-44). - No co-applicant: the HMDA codes 5 / 8 / 5 and age 9999 instead of blanks. - AUS and AUS result from the loan's latest AUS run, in each system's own result codes (DU 1-7, LPA Accept/Caution/Ineligible, ...); 6 / 17 when none was run. - Preapproval, HOEPA (3 when not originated), purchaser (0 unless sold), reverse mortgage, open-end and business purpose (2: closed-end consumer mortgages only). The edit checks grew from four rules to the filing essentials: date order, loan type, purpose, amount, occupancy, construction method, lien, state and ZIP format, applicant AND co-applicant demographics and age, and visual observation on face-to-face applications. Fields the system does not capture (census tract, income, rate spread / HOEPA test, purchaser of a sold loan) are warnings, never guessed. Read-only: the LAR is computed on request. Nothing stored changes — the borrowers' HMDA answers, the loans and the external-LOS (Arive) sync keep their own numbering; the sync reads no HMDA data and only fires on writes to a specific loan. The Mortgage Lending HMDA reports now label HMDA codes.
