Import a batch of leads from a CSV, Excel, or delimited text file, mapping its columns to KamoCRM lead fields.
Before you start
- The Manage CRM Settings right.
- At least one active market, vendor, and product already set up — the import is blocked if none exist.
Steps
1. Upload File
- Go to Settings → Client Relations Manager → Manual Imports.
- Drop or browse for a file (CSV, XLS, XLSX, or TXT).
- If the file's columns match a previously saved import template, a chooser appears automatically (Exact match / Same columns reordered / Similar) — pick one to reuse its mapping, or skip it to map from scratch.
2. Configure
- Choose the Lead Market, Vendor, and Vendor Product this batch belongs to.
- Set the delimiter (Comma/Tab/Pipe/Semicolon/Colon) and whether the first row has headers.
- Optionally load a different saved map under Load Saved Map.
3. Map Fields
- Connect each file column to a system lead field — click a system field, then click the file field it should pull from (or drag one onto the other).
- Email, First Name, and Last Name must all be mapped — the import is blocked otherwise. Mapping a Vendor Lead ID column is optional but enables duplicate detection.
- If one file column actually contains several values, apply a Split Modifier first (Split Address, Split Name, or Split Phone) to break it into virtual fields you can map individually.
- Add Data Transformations to any mapping if the raw values need cleanup — Trim, Uppercase, Lowercase, Capitalize, Format Phone, Format Email, Format Date, Regex Replace, Default Value. Multiple transformations chain in the order you add them.
- Optionally save this mapping as a reusable template under Save Map As.
4. Review & Import
- Check the Validation Results — a sample of the first 10 rows, flagged Valid / Warning / Error.
- Check the Data Preview of the first 3 rows.
- Click Import.
What you'll see
The import doesn't fail as a whole batch on row errors — you get a summary: total processed, imported, duplicates, and errors. If prompted, you can save the mapping as a template for next time.
Every import run is logged under the Past Imports sub-tab, where you can view the error report for failed rows, re-import failed rows (optionally adjusting the mapping first), or download the original file.
