Note: there is no client-side validation on these edit fields — you can save a card with fields blanked out. Don't describe validation rules here that only apply to lead creation.
Update a lead's contact info, address, or other details after it's already been created.
Before you start
Editing Lead Info and Assignment needs no special right beyond normal lead access. Editing Primary Contact or Mailing Address on a lead assigned to someone else needs the right to edit other people's lead contact info — if the lead is assigned to you, no extra right is needed.
Steps
- Open the lead's detail page.
- Find the card you want to change — Lead Info, Primary Contact, or Mailing Address. (Note: the Identifiers card — Lead ID, Market, Sales Type — and the Vendor & Product card are read-only; there's no way to change those after creation.)
- Click the pencil icon in that card's header.
- Edit the fields directly in place — there's no separate edit page or dialog.
- Click Save in the card header (or Cancel to discard).
While you're editing
If a teammate is already editing the same card, you'll see a lock badge instead of the pencil, and the card dims — wait until they finish. If you navigate away or refresh the page with unsaved changes open, you'll get a confirmation prompt first.
What you'll see
The card shows your updated values immediately, and a confirmation toast appears (e.g. "Contact saved").
