Before your first campaign
Two things need to be in place, and both are administrator work under Communications → Email:
- Your sending domain, with its DNS records verified. Without that, mail from your own domain is likely to be treated as spam.
- The bulk email sender, configured separately from ordinary mail. Bulk sending and personal sending don't use the same path, deliberately — a problem with a campaign shouldn't put your day-to-day email at risk.
A word on lists
Send to people who asked to hear from you. Beyond it being the law in most places, the practical cost of ignoring it lands on your sending domain, and a domain with a bad reputation stops delivering ordinary mail too — including the mail your salespeople send by hand.
