A Commerce Market (Settings landing page calls this section "Commerce"; the actual route is /settings/features/pos, since it's built on the Point of Sale system) is a completely separate object from a CRM Lead Market, despite both being called "Markets & Fields" in their respective settings tabs and despite the two being cross-referenced from each other in a few places.
- A Lead Market (documented under Client Relations Manager) categorizes leads — Sales Type, Sub-Type, vendors, products, commission defaults.
- A Commerce Market categorizes what you actually sell — Retail, Mortgage, Rental, Service, Subscription, Procurement, or Personal Loans — each with its own catalog underneath it (products, rental assets, subscription plans, or loan products, depending on the type).
Where they connect
The two systems are linked in specific, narrow ways rather than being the same thing:
- A CRM lead market's MLOS Integration (KamoMLS option) deep-links into the org's Mortgage-type Commerce Market for LOS configuration.
- An org can have at most one Commerce Market of type Mortgage — the create form disables that option once one exists.
- The mortgage vertical's "Borrower Origination Web Portal default product" feature (documented under CRM Vendors & Products) checks for this same Mortgage commerce market as one of its three readiness conditions.
If you're configuring the mortgage vertical end-to-end, you'll touch both systems — don't assume setting one up configures the other.
