A Market is the top-level category every lead, vendor, and product belongs to in KamoCRM. Vendors and products are scoped to a single market each, and every lead is filed under one market.
Every market has a two-level classification, Sales Type → Sub-Type:
- Service
- Residential Mortgage
- Commercial Mortgage
- Custom
- Product
- Custom (Product has no other sub-type)
So a market's full category reads like "Service - Residential Mortgage" or "Product - Custom." This classification isn't cosmetic — it's what unlocks mortgage-specific features (like the Borrower Origination Web Portal default product, or MLOS/LOS integrations) on markets classified as Residential Mortgage.
Beyond classification, a market also carries its own settings:
- Company Tracking — every market is set to either Track Company Name or Individual Only, determining whether leads in that market capture a company name.
- Quotes — a market can optionally enable a Quotes tab, letting staff build and send priced proposals to leads in that market, with a default terms template.
- Default commission — a market can pre-fill the commission amount/type used when an opportunity reservation on one of its leads is approved (the approver can still change it per-reservation).
- Custom Forms — a market can have one or more custom intake forms attached, in a set display order.
Markets are never deleted, only archived and reactivated — archiving hides a market from leads, vendors, and imports without destroying its data or history.
